Michael Gordon Oldfield (* 15. Mai 1953 in Reading, England) ist Multi-Instrumentalist und Komponist und vermischt auf einzigartige Weise Elemente aus Rock, ethnischer und klassischer Musik. Leben und Werk Oldfields Eltern sind Maureen und Raymond Oldfield. Seine Schwester Sally und sein Bruder Terry haben auf mehreren seiner Alben mitgewirkt. Sally Oldfield hat mehrere eigene Alben herausgebracht und hatte z. B. mit dem Titel Mirrors einen kommerziellen Erfolg.
